As far as finale's go, the epic conclusion to Gerry Duggan's Invincible Iron Man series is exactly what the doctor ordered. Read Full Review
This was a great end to a great run that I am sad to see come to an end. As I have said from the beginning, if you are even a passing fan of Iron Man and his world, read this series. You will not be disappointed! Read Full Review
Di Vito delivers beautiful art throughout the issue. From the action to the character designs, everything looks amazing. Read Full Review
Overall I thought this was kinda good. Which is funny considering it was so mutant focused but still mostly in character for Tony
Really good end to a really good run. I'm sad the marriage didn't last (or did it? the annulment was postponed and Emma just said she needs time...) I was really rooting for those two kids. It's such an odd couple that actually works, I could see it lasting for years. But back to the issue, art was solid, writing was solid. Everything got wrapped up pretty conveniently but nothing was unbelievable or too big of a stretch. Leading into a WCA book is an interesting direction. I'll probably follow that too.
I think the relationship between Emma and Tony represents this run perfectly for me. From something so unpromising, so unambitious, so unserious at first grew something unexpectedly memorable, special, big, and even smart. Misdirection is something, that this run used many times, both in the story and outside and it did it so well. It made a story that was tense, surprising, always fun, and unexpected. It did not reinvent the wheel, while still putting him in a position that was not associated with him. everything this run did, it made the case for it and it made it good. It deserves its own existence. I will remember it very fondly.
As for this issue: a lot of those final issues feel rushed, but this one did not feel like that a more
I honestly think this run could’ve been way better, but I liked it anyways. The first issues were amazing, but the mutant storyline dragged it down a lot. Let’s see what the future holds for Tony Stark!
Art: 3.5/5
Story: 4/5
Total: 7.5/10
The final issue of this Iron Man arc is a bit of a mixed bag. While there are some dull moments that drag the pacing down, the action scenes scattered throughout provide enough excitement to keep things moving. The battles are decent but not particularly spectacular.
On the positive side, the story wraps up smoothly, tying up loose ends without feeling rushed. It’s not the most thrilling conclusion, but it gets the job done. Overall, a satisfactory end to the arc, even if it could have been more engaging.
I must have read a different book than everyone else. I thought this was average at best. It was so obvious that Duggan had to put everything back for the next writer and had one issue to do it. All charges dropped against Rhodey - convenient. Emma gives billions of dollars to Tony - convenient. She mind controls people to steal, so they all lose their jobs - awful. Crimson Dynamo shows up at his book signing just to have an action scene - random. The only scene that was good was the one between Tony and Emma. The only good thing to come out of this run was their relationship whenich has now been abandoned.
