BLOOD HUNT TIE-IN: THE MIDNIGHT MISSION JOINS THE HUNT!
As the Marvel Universe devolves in panic and fear with the unfolding BLOOD HUNT, writer JED MACKAY casts his gaze from the events of the main event to this companion tie-in! With more chaos on their hands than ever before, and no tested leader to show them the way, the MIDNIGHT MISSION is on their own as they fight like hell to save New York and its people from being completely overrun by vampires!
Rated T+
Vengeance of the Moon Knight #6 is a perfect exemplar of what a tie-in issue can achieve, using the tapestry of the main events spectacle to tell a deeply personal story. MacKays writing uses the natural continuation of Reeses arc as a point of view as a way into the story, allowing her to express the horrors of the vampire invasion. Paired with Pramaniks striking visuals, the depth of bloody viscera and carnage is present in a clear way. Even the coloring by Rosenberg is unflinching in presenting that decimation in the streets of New York. While reading either the main Blood Hunt series or previous Moon Knight issues would be beneficial, this issue is a standout read that sells the cost of the spectacle that comes with summer blockbuster events. Vengeance of the Moon Knight isn't exactly necessary ready for Blood Hunt, but it is successfully adding to that tapestry in stellar fashion. Read Full Review
A really nice issue that just gets to that 9.0/10 for me. I think Pramanik did a super solid job of filling in for Alessandro Cappuccio here and I think he could be a really nice rotating artist for this run. As for MacKay, he continues to do an awesome job with just about all of the characters here. I really like how he handled Reese here, especially, as he's made her one of the best characters of his run on Moon Knight. The final few pages with her returning to the apartment were just great, and part of the reason this got pushed to a 9.0/10 for me.
Jed Mackay is one of the few Marvel writers who has my trust and respect, and this shows.
Love the character of Reese. And for a tie-in, it kept my interest and told a pretty decent story.
Lol, this comic is so lame that the only bright spot is fucking 8-ball.
I'm not collecting any of the Blood Hunt storyline, but I didn't want to break my run. This was just a waste of time for me. The only positive was that there was no psychiatrist scene. Other than that this was a throw away issue.
