Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin #5 isn't a bad finale but it also doesn't quite have the punch that's expected. For a series that has been so good, it's a little bit of a letdown. It does deliver a rather touching final moment but beyond that, this went from a series that was one of the best TMNT stories to just another miniseries that doesn't stick the landing. Incredible action sequence and a bittersweet finale to one of the best TMNT stories ever told.
This is an absolute must read for any fan. Period.
hands down one of the best comic books I read in my entire life. This entire series is a masterpiece, and its basically Logan (2017 film) with TMNT. Highly reccomend reading this. I am going to get this trade paperback.
FUCKING PHENOMENAL.
The final fight needs a little something extra, but this is otherwise an instant classic
Enjoyed this book. Last fight and conclusion was good. Not as earth shattering as I hoped but still highly recommended. One gripe was that I thought Hiroto was kinda meh as the antagonist.
But one MAJOR criticism I had, not really to do with the series, is that there were far too long gaps in between issues. Last issue was released back in September, I get it that these books are longer than normal comics but it REALLY killed a lot of my enthusiasm to be honest.
But this series was very dark, my highlight was Raph's issue in the series. For those new to this series, wait for the full volume to come out later on. Mikey is my favourite turtle and glad he got the spotlight as he usually gets the short end of the stick in more
The main story was outstanding and tragic. Mike is so entrenched in the war he spent his whole life training for that he’s willing to give up everything, including his own life, to see it to it’s end. But the note he leaves for Casey shows that he realizes the ultimate futility of his actions and that he wants Casey as his mentee to know in her life the peace he never had in his.
Unfortunately, the main story was somewhat diluted by the pointless side story of Casey leaving her mom only to spend the rest of the issue trying to find her again, which did not make any sense.
