This is a more nuanced version of Deathstroke, one weighed down by decades of tragedy that he helped to create himself. In places, it reminds me quite a bit of the brilliant take Priest did on the character for fifty issues. Read Full Review

Dark Knights of Steel: Allwinter #3 has taken characters and the wider DC Universe we know, flipped it on its head by sending it back to the magical middle ages, then flipped the script again by changing the power sets and origin stories of our favorites in ways that are utterly new, but still feel very in keeping to the stories as we know them. With choices this ambitious, handled this well, and with artwork as varied and stunning as these, I can count on this story to continue to bring magic and intrigue! Read Full Review

Overall, Dark Knights of Steel: Allwinter #3 is a satisfying installment in the series. It continues to build upon the world-building and character development established in previous issues. While the pacing might be a bit slow at times, the intriguing plot and strong characterization make it a worthwhile read. Dark Knights of Steel's latest chapter unfolds in a sentimental, high-octane way. Jay Kristoff delivers both on character and on clever action, and Tirso's art and colors in the main story are nothing short of outstanding, playing with the medium of comics in some fun and compelling ways. Batman-News - Aaron Ray Jr. Sep 18, 2024

Knights of Steel plays heavily with sword and sorcery tropes of the genre, but seems to lack it's own voice for now. I totally appreciate this setting, but this story is getting increasingly dull. The creative team spends most of the main story discussing the boy's abilities and fighting a new party member. Furthermore, Batman feels like a random addition thrown in inorganically. For a character the readers have spent a lot of time with in the last series, Batman confusingly lacking motivation, virtually confessing that he had nothing better to do. The back up is picking up steam with the introduction of Arthur, but continues to seem like a bland history lesson with admittedly amazing illustration. Hopefully, both stories come together nicely, and wake up this otherwise lackluster adventure. Read Full Review
