Dark Knights of Steel: Allwinter #2 perfectly continues the tone and the artistry we've seen applied in issue one, to hold up two vastly different, but entirely matching stories in a wonderfully well imagined slant on the DC Universe. I for one am eager to feel these stories grow from here. Read Full Review

Dark Knights of Steel: Allwinter #2 is a hell of a second issue. It's main story is wonderful and one of the strongest stories DC is putting out right now. The second half too continues the series' ability to take familiar characters and still surprise in how it uses them. It's the best Elseworlds series on the shelf right now and the best comic DC is currently releasing. Read Full Review

The Comicbook Dispatch - Dispatchdcu Aug 21, 2024

Overall, Dark Knights of Steel: Allwinter #2 is a solid installment that builds upon the foundation laid in the previous issue. The complex characters and intriguing plot developments keep readers engaged, and the world-building continues to impress. However, the pacing could be a bit slower at times with the focus on personal drama overshadowing the larger conflict. Nevertheless, Dark Knights of Steel: Allwinter #2 is a promising continuation of the Dark Knights of Steel series, with a focus on character development and world-building. Pick this issue and series up if you are interested in continuing your exploration of this universe. Read Full Review

Allwinter continues with a pair of quick-paced chapters, with Slade encountering an old flame and his wayward daughter while becoming entangled with the strange boy Alec (who brings a dose of literal color in an otherwise grey-toned world). Read Full Review

    Batman-News - Aaron Ray Jr. Aug 21, 2024

I'll get right to the point. Dark Knights of Steel: Allwinter is interesting, but slightly boring. In terms of detail, the artwork in the main story is slightly mediocre. Yet, the artwork in the secondary story is amazing, but the story isn't remotely grabbing attention. Furthermore, Slade's hero journey has great themes, but is becoming increasingly generic. My hope for the series is that things don't continue to develop in a predictable direction and readers get the opportunity to read something that feels fresh. Without the artwork to justify the second story, it bogs down the overall issue, making both stories feel like two inferior halves of a whole. That said, I do appreciate the thematic symmetry between both tales. Read Full Review
