Nerd Initiative - Megan Nichole
Jun 17, 2026If there’s one thing you can say about this comic series, it’s that there’s not one single boring issue in the run. Gail Simone gives each issue its own light to shine and brings so many different tones to every one of them. It’s something I really appreciate because it feels like every issue is memorable, and there’s something to love in every one of them. In this issue, Gail Simone is setting up for what seems to be some exciting stuff that I can’t wait to see. There’s also some great dynamics between the characters that we get to see grow, and even some being pulled away from. Gail gives the reader so much to work with, and so much to theorize on, and that’s exactly how I’ll be spending my time until the next issue drops. Read Full Review

Fanlight Zone - Ken M.
Jun 17, 2026An Alien invasion has come to the X-Men’s front door with many questions surrounding why in this latest arc. Simone captures the innocence of the Outliers with the brash reality of Mutant life superbly. Antônio and Wilson balance the quick action with more dramatic visions. Now is the perfect time to jump on the best X-series on the shelves! Read Full Review

AIPT - David Brooke
Jun 17, 2026Uncanny X-Men #30 is another reminder of how well Simone understands ensemble storytelling. The alien invasion premise injects fresh energy into the title, but the issue's greatest strength remains its cast. Whether it's the Outliers navigating teenage life, Gambit stepping into a mentor role, or Penance establishing herself as one of the book's most formidable figures, every scene feels purposeful. Rogê Antônio and Matthew Wilson continue to elevate the material with expressive characters and eye-catching visuals, making the strange new threats feel both exciting and dangerous. Even with a crowded roster that sidelines a few characters, the issue never loses momentum. Few superhero books make every page count quite like this one. Read Full Review

Comic Watch - Jamison Nilsson
Jun 17, 2026This issue is really messy. Not quite as fever dream-like as the previous one, at least not yet, but the writing feels incomplete while the artwork does the heavy lifting in carrying every scene from the first page to the last. Read Full Review

Guest artist Rogé Antônio has one thing that most artists at Marvel, including regular series artist Luciano Vecchio, are lacking - a knack for dynamism and natural movement. Unfortunately Gail Simone can’t help but infuse the story with her woke nonsense at any opportunity, which is a real shame, since the book is mostly enjoyable.

Gail must have been dared " write the worst X-men story ever." and she created this issue. this issue is all about dates aliens and dancing. Kurt is on a date, death dream on a date with a girl in a wheelchair. we get a goddamn dance number of Calico in the book. all of it. every page is painful and awful. What on earth is this ? We get one callback to graymulken prison with a lame brawl with the all powerful Monet, as she's releasing prisoners...yet beats them up? a brood warrior shows up at one point. This book is an epic disaster. The art barely has faces on it. most don't have noses and dots for eyes.its sketches and shows little effort. we end on the news of Weapon x-finity...where they want to make wolverines. NO. Yet again th more
