Years ago, Bane killed Alfred Pennyworth right in front of Damian. And now, on Dinosaur Island, there is nothing stopping Robin from getting his revenge! Except his father, Batman! And the giant dinosaurs, of course.
Batman and Robin #12 is the culmination of Robin and Bane's conflict, him finally having closure through their duel. The action here is spectacular, the confrontation against Bane that many may have wanted after half a decade. Juan Ferreyra delivers panels that are both clear and colorful. Combined with the storytelling efforts of Joshua Williamson, this issue effectively makes the readers feel the full force of Damian's grief, both visually and narratively. Read Full Review
Damian is starting to backslide in a way we haven't seen in a while, driven by his grief and guilt, and it's clear that this is something Bruce isn't exactly ready to deal with. Even amid the over-the-top action scenes, it's a great way to ground the issue emotionally. Read Full Review

Batman & Robin #12 was a fun read, and I'm excited to see how the arc ends. If Williamson is indeed ending his run on the next issue, I think he'll end on a strong note as this story has been quite enjoyable. I have definitely become a fan of Juan Ferreyra and will be on the look out for what project he does next. Now, will Damian break Bane next issue? I can't wait to find out. Read Full Review

Batman and Robin #12 is a special issue and surely a highlight of the series. Williamson has put so much care into this series and it will be a shame to see him leave, but he also set the stage for many more great issues focusing on Batman and Robin. With this issue in particular, even if readers havent been following this series, the parts with Alfred and Damian are worth it. Read Full Review
Batman & Robin #12 is a remarkable book. It's full of heart, adventure, and a meditation on vengeance. Read Full Review
Batman and Robin #12 is a really well-crafted and at times elegant expression of Damian's growth as a character while it pulls together the impact Alfred has had on his life and offers something of a coda to Aflred's death and its fallout only to almost immediately waste the fantastic storytelling and growth with what can only be described as comic book 'roid rage for the sake of a plot twist to close the issue in a cliffhanger. First and foremost, Juan Ferreyra might be my favorite regularly active artist today. His art is never anything short of spectacular. The story was really good too, a solid side quest for B&R to bond and grow from which is the point of this series. Damian definitely looked like he was ready to slip back into his old self and I thought daddy was going to have to stop him but the build and climax of his actions worked and paid off really well. Bane and his daughter were interesting too, the whole setting for the arc was solid. Kinda shallow and basic, but it wasn't meant to be a heavy, complex arc. It was enjoyable.
pretty solid issue right here. I like how Damian and Bane's story ends.
I wasn't as much a fan of this issue as everyone else it seems. I did like the flashbacks with Alfred and Damian not killing Bane and saying Alfred would not have approved. We all thought they would have brough Alfred back by now, but it has not happened. I dropped all of the Batman books except this one since they completely descructed Batman to something unrecognizable, including cutting off his hand. Just ludricrous. During this fight scene with Bane, Robin would be dead. he would have not been able to take those punches. I guess we hust have to overlook reality.
