Absolute Wonder Woman Issue 8 refreshes just the right amount. The interlude in Hades likely provided a break and helped build the wider mythology. But Wonder Woman is just such an incredible character, with so much variety, that it is impossible to get bored of her. Read Full Review
Thompson and company advance-in on a decided earthbound threat for Diana as her second major storyline. The mutation of the familiar in an alternate universe has a tendency to be a bit tedious at times. Thompson and company make it fun to discover an alternate perspective on the familiar. Absolute Wonder Woman continues to find a fascinating corner of a new universe in which to explore nightmare visions of the DC that readres have come to know and love over the years. Its also nice to see Thompson taking her time with it. When introducing elseworld, theres also the tendency to want to throw everything at the page right away. Its nice to see Thopson take her time to introduce the first major villain in the eighth issue. Read Full Review

Overall, As My Mothers Made Me gets off to a solid start, as the darker side of human nature begins to show itself through Veronica Cale and her attempt to weaponize the final death screech of an absolute monster. We're also introduced to Dr. Poison, who I'm sure will be a source of some intriguing story developments as the arc progresses. Read Full Review

Absolute Wonder Woman #8 takes big, bold steps towards embracing more of Diana's legacy in comics. The addition to two major villains from her past widens the mythology of this new book. Absolute Wonder Woman #8is a decent, albeit incomplete start to a new arc when Diana sets out to find other Amazons. Kelly Thompson's script builds on the foundational aspects of the first arc for a relatable start. However, this arc starts without anything resembling stakes or urgency. Plus Hayden Sherman's return to the title regrettably looks like a downgrade compared to the previous two issues. Read Full Review
New arc starts here & the dream team is back
Thompson, Sherman, Bellaire and Carey are locked in again to bring us another amazing chapter of Absolute Wonder Woman! Diana is back in Gateway City, and she reunites with all her friends, Steve, Greta, Gia and Barbara. The flipside of that is we also see the return of one Veronica Cale and oh boy is she a treat or what? Ms. Cale is not just one name, or one some random face with a legacy name sprinkled in this world for some sense of familiarity. No, Ms. Cale is a force to be reckon with. She clearly has access, resources, influence and just good old power. Not the kind that defeats monsters and saves the day like the power wielded by Diana. Not even remotely close. Veronica Cale has more
I like a Absolute Wonder Woman is awesome.
slower than the previous ones, but it's the beginning of a new arc and it looks very interesting. The art is very beautiful. I love villains' revaps and Dr. Poison was a pleasant surprise.
Even though its slower, I can't help but enjoy it because of the beautiful art, and how Kelly Thompson takes her time in exploring and developing these characters. The pace is brisk, but its not too fast (like Simon Spurrier's Flash) and I said it before: But I love Kelly Thompson's writing for Wonder Woman
Another very good issue, albeit a bit of a comedown from the last two storylines primarily due to a lack of urgency and the lack of a major impending threat. This issue pauses a bit to catch its breath while setting up some intriguing future storylines that have already started to come to fruition by the issue’s end.
This is turning into the main Wonder Woman title while Tom King's WW falls over a cliff. What sucks is the artwork in that book is great while Absolute WW art is horrible. As you can tell I am not a fan of Sherman's art. It was such a treat when we had the guest artist on and most people were hoping that Sherman did not come back. Yet here we are. How do we get rid of this guy? I did like Dr. Poison showing up in this issue and Cale is this univere's Waller. Though it's seeming to be moving away from the Hades storyline, which is going to make this seem like a main universe WW title, she's just wearing a different costume. I'm just so hungry for someone to actually write some good WW stories that I don't even mind.

This issue was pretty good. Probably my least favorite so far. Art is still amazing. Script seemed a little messy.
Was there a huge drop in quality in this or did I somehow miss something in the last 7 issues, or did the problems I have with the series just became extremely apparent here?
This was bad. Lame. Boring.
The writing and dialogue and even story is so cheesy, how is this a 9/10?
The art is the only thing that deserves any praise but even still the writer gave nothing interesting for the artist to do.
I think I’m dropping this. $5 is hefty price for this.
