A little predictable, but a fun read.

Awesome cover and nice story that feels a bit weird considering the main story is only 2 issues gone??? DC sometimes confuses me with all these crossovers that really screw up the main feature. I wish someone would make these crossovers a separate theme that doesn’t make me need to read about 60 comics to get nowhere. Anyway rant aside I enjoyed it so worth the admission price.

So this stuff is more standard horror. Some good horror art and all that, but story wise, mostly just exploring Hal's fears. Nothing too crazy. Though I will give a +1 point as it looks like Adams is actually trying to keep the flow of his Green Latern book by tying it into this event. I do look forward to see if that is how it plays out, and how this nightmare will affect Hal's life/actions afterwards. That does seem more promising.
Backup story was ok. Really not sure where it is heading for now. Will have more judgments once the second issue gets out.

This is kind of run-of-the-mill scary dream stuff, but Adams writes it well enough for it to be engaging and entertaining. I also appreciate that Adams kind of set this up to be tied in the main Green Lantern run. While the art here is not quite Xermánico's, it's still nice and looks good throughout. I'm not really sure how I feel about Sinestro's backup story, but I'm just hoping it sets up his return in the main series. Overall, this was a well-written issue that presents a story I'm looking forward to seeing play out next month.

I like that this tie-in was a part of its character’s ongoing series more than others’ seems to be, and that it has some themes that may turn up again once this event is over. There are some creepy visuals as well, but the stakes feel low considering no one seems to be in any real danger. It’s annoying that this has put the ongoing series on pause for two months after it’s only had two issues, and I would rate this lower for ruining the strong momentum that’s been building. However, as it’s own story this is fine, even good, so I’m not going to factor that problem into my scoring. It is a bit run of the mill, though, not offering much new. I feel pretty much the same way about the Sinestro backup.

Meh, nothing special, and since when is Hal Jordan Jewish?

Another week, another DC character dealing with issues related to their parents’ death. Similar to last week’ BATMAN tie-in, Hal Jordan’s nightmare includes a flashback to his father’s death, which has also been told far too many times to be interesting. It’s also not the only past event that Hal must deal with that has also been explored in previous Lantern stories. There was also a Sinestro backstory at the end which serves as a mini tie-in to the Knight Terrors event, which I guess was fine?
I appreciated how Jeremy Adams seamlessly tied this story into GREEN LANTERN #2’s narrative, which hasn’t been the case for other characters who have their own ongoing series paused while the Knight Terror event unfolds. Eduardo Pansica, Julio Ferreira, and Luis Guerrero provide a positive visual experience with the artwork and colors. Lantern titles often allow for interesting color choices and expressive designs and that’s apparent here.
It was really hard for me to connect with the stakes of this issue because it didn’t feel like there was anything new. Yes, Hal is trapped in his nightmares like everyone else….so? This comes off as another tie-in that is removed from the event’s central plot and only published to add a major character’s name to a title.
