With the power out across Gotham, Batman must haul the not-particularly-cooperative villain responsible, E.M.P., across miles of chaotic city streets, filled with terrified people and opportunistic criminals! Blackgate Prison can nullify E.M.P.'s destructive electrical powers, if Batman can survive long enough to get them there-but what happens if there are two people loose in Gotham with those powers? What then? The mega-talented Jock (Batman: The Black Mirror, The Batman Who Laughs) writes and draws the blockbuster story of Batman's worst night!
This book is a worthy read and should be used as a model for how to make a great modern Batman book. The art, the action, the colors and the characters shine through. This book reminds us not only of what a great character Batman is, but what a great character Gotham is and how amazing the comic medium can be when done right. Read Full Review

Jock pulls double duty as both writer and artist in this issue and the art perfectly complements the dark, gritty tone of the story with blistering action and a wonderful use of darkness and shadow. Read Full Review
It looks great, it's a fast-paced adventure, and it understands that Batman is often at his best when he has no one to rely on. Read Full Review
Batman: One Dark Knight #2 brings us to the halfway mark as this is only a three-book series. It'll be fun to see how it all comes together and if Batman can get the power back on for the good citizens of Gotham. Jock is a better writer then I thought he would be. I can't believe we where lucky enough to get two Batman books this week. Written and drawn by one guy. I always enjoy these stories, because there is nothing lost between what the writer wants and what the artist wants. They always make for a good - great read, and the art is amazing.
Jock is an amazing Batman artist, this is a fun story, you get a very contained story since this three parter is all happening in one night.
I like this approach, and showing Batman working without all his gadgets is always fun.
This book is a fun read, and I cannot wait to buy the hardcover for my Batman shelf. This a Batman tale worthy of our favourite caped crusader!
This continues to be a solid, fun miniseries. I think the tension built up here really works. And of course, the art here is great.
Pretty decent issue. I'd say Jock is a better writer than an artist. I don't know why DC felt it was necessary to make the book a different size than usual though.
The story is good enough. It's the best Black Label Batman adventure since Reptilian. I have to admit I am looking forward to the conclusion.
Not a very good story and sorry really bad art...just didn't do it for me.
So fucking boring.
