RATED T+
The Death Of Doctor Strange comes to an emotionally fitting ending, easily cementing itself as one of the best modern Doctor Strange stories as it puts a spotlight and stamp upon the character while paving the road for what is next. This is a magically gorgeous book that understands how to handle magic and the characters that wield it while showing a deep love for the Marvel Universe and its characters as a whole. This has been one of the best Doctor Strange stories I've ever read, and if you're looking to read something featuring the good doctor before Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, you can't go wrong with this one. Read Full Review
Garbett delivers some great on every page of this issue. The characters look great and the style is perfect for both the character moments and the big action moments as well. Read Full Review
The mystery is solved, and while the ending sorta missed its mark, I have the utmost faith in MacKay to deliver with the upcoming series based around Clea. So much potential to explore, I just hope to see Jed show that not only is Clea not Stephen, but shes also not human. Sure, shes humanoid, but her entire existence was in a dimension where darkness and evil magic was the status quo, so Clea will provide a totally unique perspective for our dimensional firmament. The Death of Doctor Strange #5 was a good and fitting end to a cool event. It's a shame that Marvel spoiled the ending ahead of time, but Jed MacKay provides enough twists and turns to make it more about the journey… and the journey really is only just beginning! Read Full Review
The Death of Doctor Strange #5 is a nice end to a surprisingly well-done mini-event. For what it's worth, you don't have to read all the tie-in issues to this story. The main series presents the story without needing all the back matter. However, I will miss Ditko Doc as he was just starting to get his own distinctive voice. Read Full Review

Damn, between this and Black Cat/MJ, Jed McKay is just on fire this week. I am absolutely hyped for the ongoing
The cover is beautiful and though vague, the firey effects and the darker colors are somewhat descriptive of what happens to Doctor Strange's fate in this story. 2/2 The art is really good when it is dealing with magic, but otherwise, it is pretty ok. 1.5/2 The dialogue with Clea and Doctor Strange is sad and emotional in a very powerful way. 2/2 The story is shocking and bold with how it commits to the title and the heart-to-heart between Clea and Doctor Strange makes you feel sad even if you know he will definitely be back soon. 2/2 The characters are very average except for both Doctor Stranges and Clea, who all give emotional moments, oh and a bonus half-point for old Doctor Strange using Kaecilius to bring current Doctor Strange back. more
Solid.
Excited for Jed MacKay on Clea.
Love it, good ending.
This was a great Mini Series, Jed Mackay continues his winning streak, excited to see what he will do with Clea in Strange.
This winds up pretty darn satisfying, despite the main conflicts being a little "meh" and the art being a little improvable. It helps that this finale circles back to #1 in terms of its terrific grasp on Dr. Strange's voice and character.
I'm a sucker for consequential comics and it's hard to get more consequential than this. This miniseries lives up to its title and throws a serious change into the magical status quo of the Marvel universe.
Things were maybe wrapped up too quickly for my taste, but this was still a solid, if abrupt conclusion to a pretty good miniseries-event-thing.
I liked the way old Strange acted here but I'm not very interested in yet another classic hero being replaced so I'm a bit undecided if I'll come back for the Clea upcoming story. Still, for what it was, this was pretty decent. Better than most Dr. Strange stories lately. I'm also a bit surprised with Marvel Comics killing Strange when MCU is putting so much faith in the movie, kind of a weird move. Unless he comes back until the release of the movie.
A solid conclusion for a solid mini-series.
