Even if you're not interested in the next era of Ghost Rider, longtime fans will love Ghost Rider: Final Vengeance. It features a rare moment of the spirit finding a new host, and through that experience, Percy shows us the wide variety of types the Spirit of Vengeance dabbles in before finding the ideal and new Ghost Rider. Ghost Rider: Final Vengeance #1 is a strong enough start for this new era of the Spirit of Vengeance. There are a few dents in the cycle that stop it from being a timeless classic in Ghost Rider's arsenal but there's enough from Percy and Kim to have readers on board. Read Full Review
Ghost Rider: Final Vengeance #1 is an interesting comic. If it just focused on the new host and got us there, the pacing would have picked up and it'd be far more entertaining to get to what we already knew was happening. The other improvement would have been to not spoil it at all and let readers be surprised. Finally, a better direction would have been to let it play out through the first arc with the reveal coming the fourth or fifth issue and again not spoiling it. That would have allowed Percy to better explore the Ghost Rider entity and its role in the Marvel Universe. As is, we get some cool ideas and an ending we knew was coming. In other words, it's a comic that doesn't deliver much beyond what we already knew. Read Full Review
Ghost Rider: Final Vengeance #1 spends too much time setting up the mystery of who the new Ghost Rider will be, even though Marvel revealed it months ago. Because of that, this issue feels more like a prelude than a proper beginning to a new series and may fail to grab new or returning readers. Read Full Review
All in all, the first book in this series isn't awful but has nothing really special about it that stands out, especially for a book that's supposed to get you hooked on a particular character. Read Full Review
A sprawling script where nothing happens, combined with teases of really interesting hosts followed by the dullest possible choice just bums me out as a reader. Read Full Review
I liked this issue more than most, but I do wish it got to the point quicker. We only see Johnny for a few pages before Zarathos just travels across the universe until finding The Hood on the last page or two. Like I said, I liked this as a whole, hence my rating, but I don't think I'm going to continue to like it as much unless we get a clearer direction for this series sooner rather than later.
i thought this debut issue wasnt bad, but I didnt feel that much. I hope this series will change my mind
I liked how this issue started with Blaze being set up for death by Zarathos, so he would be free to find a new host. I'm not sure why he's driving Ketch's bike though. The second story of the overworked mom was good too, but then it falls off the rails and becomes just a smattering of scenes until the reveal at the end. I'm not sure if I'm too interested in where the story goes from here.

Was an ok idea, but didn't feel super exciting.
Oh for the love of!!!!! This has to be the candidate for the worst issue 1 Marvel has ever produced. The art was by numbers , the script by an idiot and if someone can please pass me an actual plot I would be grateful. I love the concept of Ghost Rider but to write it properly you really should tale it out the Marvel universe and actually bring horror to the table. This is cheap crap and I'm starting to loose all faith in where Marvel are going just now. Stop all these number 1's and start writing stories and drawing real art before the day day comes where you close your doors.
