Having earned his release from the Suicide Squad, Peacemaker wants to try and do normal superhero stuff for a change. Unfortunately everyone, including the bad guys, thinks he sucks at superhero stuff. But when busting up a terrorist ring introduces Christopher Smith to the cutest thing to ever walk (awkwardly) on four legs, he finds the unconditional love he's been denied his whole life. That is, until the dog is kidnapped right out from under him by a super-villain who has some very un-super-heroic plans for Peacemaker's brand of ultraviolence. Will he help an infamously unstable super-powered criminal steal the world's most valuable-and damore
This Peacemaker is perfectly placed to capitalize on the 'Peacemaker' show starring John Cena..just, y'know, sixteen months later. Read Full Review
Along with Kyle's spectacular writing, legend Steve Pugh nailed the artwork which pairs extremely well with the Peacemaker character and Starks' story. We are excited to see where Pugh and Starks take this six-issue miniseries. Read Full Review

Peacemaker: Tries Hard! #1 is a great debut. It's absurd in its situations playing up everything to extremes but never quite crossing that line to distract. Every moment is used to pack in a joke and a laugh, and through it all, you feel a little bad for Peacemaker. Well worth a buy if you're a long time fan of the character, new to him, or just need a good laugh. Read Full Review

Ridiculously hilarious and immature. The writing and art is fantastic. I can wait for issue 2!
this series was actually good and funny. Had good art and an engaging story. DC Comics always gets the best Elseworld stories.
First thing's first, not everything worked here. I felt that some of the humor worked and it made me audibly laugh, but I also felt that some of the humor didn't work as well and felt a little forced at times. Plus, the flashback with Christopher's dad felt a little generic to me. Nonetheless, this is still an entertaining first issue for this miniseries. I think it just needed to find its stride, and I think it did by the time we got to the final few pages. I'm hoping this series gets better as it continues, because I can really sense some potential here. As of now, I'm interested enough to stick around for the ride.
This is trying so hard to be like the show, but without understanding the show's deeper elements. It's just the humor, but done not as well as Gunn did it. And it's fine.

I love the show and heard great things about this book but it just didn't do it for me.
People keep applauding this for how great it is, but I didn't really enjoy it too much. I guess it's just not my thing.
