When all is said and done, Captain Marvel #34 continues to build on the momentum that this story arc had already been riding high on. With the final pages teasing a huge showdown for the next issue, I cannot wait to see what this creative team gifts us with! Read Full Review
Davila delivers some awesome visuals throughout the issue. There are beautiful details in every panel and the action is bombastic and brilliantly detailed. Read Full Review
This run is being hailed as the longest Captain Marvel (Carols tenure as Captain), and theres a reason for that. Under Kelly Thompsons tenure, Carol is powerful, inspiring, yet not infallible. Carols found a new trick with her powers that could be very interesting to see what Kellys got in store. There are some slight disappointments with this issue, but thats only because expectations are high. I cant wait to see how this team finishes this story. Read Full Review
"The Last of the Marvels" has been a thrilling ride so far and seems to be hitting on all cylinders at the perfect time. Read Full Review
Captain Marvel #34 is at its best when Kelly Thompson and Sergio Davila focus on Carol Danvers various battles. Specifically, Carol's battle with Mar-Vell carried the emotion you expect such a reunion to happen. Unfortunately, the big bad of this story in Vox Supreme continues to fail as a compelling villain. Until that part of "The Last of the Marvels" is fixed the full potential of the story that is promised will never be reached. Read Full Review
This is a really well-paced and well-written issue. Plus the art looks so good.
Good issue. Enjoying Thompson run.
This comic is mostly just punchy-punchy-zappy-zappy. If I didn't come in with preexisting love for the hero and the title, I might be a bit bored. But it is very well-crafted.
And there are some nice bonuses: Carol's new power trick gets good logical support. The exploration of the Carol/Mar-Vell relationship doesn't break new ground, but it does feel honest.
S'okay, dangit, it is a good comic.
(But I'm also always a little disappointed when a Mar-Vell shows up. The only thing more disappointing than the fact that it's *never* the real Marv would be the outrage of truly resurrecting him.)
Interesting use of her powers but I care more about seeing the other Marvels, so far we've seen little of them.
