I whole heartingly realize my own bias towards PKJ's work is fully on display here, but I can't help it. However, I don't think it changes the fact this is a great first issue that promises to be an epic House of El adventure. This is definitely a must read for any PKJ fan, but it's also a great "off the beaten path type of Superman book that has potential to be something special. Read Full Review

Adventures of Superman: Book of El #1 is a perfect example of trying to do too much at once. It's a frantic, dizzying rush of ideas that never cohere into a compelling story. It's got a lot of flash, but beneath the glossy exterior is a hollow, incomprehensible mess.4/10 Read Full Review
He is back! The best modern superman writer is back!
The goat is back
PKJ's return to Superman only proves that he never should have left Action Comics in the first place. Excellent issue, with a great start to the story, just like Warworld Saga.
Good book. And nice to see a conclusion to the best modern Superman run.
