MARK WAID AND DAN MORA TURN EVERYTHING YOU KNOW ABOUT THE WORLD'S MIGHTIEST MORAL ON ITS HEAD! Shadiness. Hatefulness. Arrogance. Zeal. Anger. Malice. These are the new powers of Shazam--and if Billy doesn't find a way to get them under control, the lives of everyone around him will be forever destroyed!
Shazam might not be the most high stakes book at DC but it doesn't insult readers' intelligence or deride them for enjoying these characters. This is definitely a top-tier DC title now and well worth picking up. Read Full Review
Shazam #4 is a whirlwind of chaos and fun. This is the second part of the situation with the gorillas, but it is entirely fresh and a new set of surroundings. Read Full Review
This comic continues to be delightfully bonkers and I'm totally into it. Read Full Review
Shazam! is simply a joy to read and issue #4 suggests that won't change anytime soon. Read Full Review
Dan Moras art is beautifully detailed and visually complex. There are some truly fantastic images that are exciting to see. Read Full Review
It's clear Waid and Mora are heavily inspired by the characters original fantastical world, and the more they bring that sensibility to the DCU, the better. Read Full Review
Shazam! #4 is a weird, wiley, wacky issue that's tons of fun but takes itself seriously enough to deliver an exciting adventure. Waid's homage to Silver Age storytelling is on-point, and Mora's art is perfect. Read Full Review
Even if I tire of DC's back-and-forth "no continuity" policies, this book is entertaining and may be the first time the comic version resembles the films. Worth a look. Read Full Review

A delightfully engaging, and not to mention blast of an issue that channels the very best of its talents. Despite some narrative uncertainties, they eloquently ramp up the conflict before the finale comes to a head. Read Full Review
This issue is genuinely hilarious, with perfect comedic timing in the art and writing. Sanchez’s colors make this look phenomenal; this might be the best art I’ve seen from him and Mora.
This is another great issue that I was laughing most of the way through. Be it the lying Gorilla Commandos who want the moon, the scorned Bee Queen who fell for Zeus's charms (love the little blush marks Mora put on Queen Bee when she is yelling at the solider to get Billy) of Billy being grossed out by a kiss, it is non-stop laughter (except for the last page. That is more like a record scratch).
Similar to what I said in the last issue, this is another crazy hilarious issue that I think encompasses the fun of Shazam. Waid and Mora are a perfect team.
TL DR, just read this and laugh. Be happy.

Another solid, fun issue from Waid and Mora here. This is one that just reaches that 8/10 mark for me because of some moments I really enjoyed. For one, I liked the opening page with Billy and Garguax. I also thought the ending where Billy got blasted before he could say "Shazam" was pretty cool. Though, this did end a bit suddenly, in my opinion.
Fun issues, I really like how hte color makes Dan Mora's art pops out more and it looks great.
I'm not sure I like the plot point that the Gods had accidentally given Billy their bad traits. I thought it was going to be a test, but instead we get this. The art is still amazing and I live the stuff with Queen Bee. The apes going into space with a battle on the moon I could have done without.
