From my viewpoint, this eight part series really finds a way to wrap you into the big picture with this final issue. Waltz and company go out with a Bang in issue 100, which is what you should expect from the best interpretation of the turtles ever produced. Artist/Writer Sophie Campbell will be at the helm next year with issue 101. Itll be interesting to see how she dives into Jennikas character and if she can learn to love being a turtle. The first arc in IDWs TMNT is called Change is constant, and there are deff a lot of changes coming after this issue. I realize the turtles arent going anywhere, but seeing Shredder carry Master Splinter's lifeless body, gave me chills, my eyes watered, I closed the book and silently said thank you to Kevin Eastman, Peter Laird, Tom Waltz, and everyone that has ever drawn and wrote Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. TMNT #100 is by all accounts a success. Though imperfect from a craftsmanship perspective, it is a perfect capstone to 100 issues of storytelling while springboarding the series into the future. IDW Publishing deserves a lot of credit for putting together this creative team, as their efforts have resulted in the definitive version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Read Full Review
The sacrifice of Splinter and return of a less-murderous Oroku Saki felt like an echo of Magneto's X-Men from so many years ago. I'm not sure where such a move takes the Turtles moving forward, but it certainly shakes up the status quo (in a way IDW wasn't willing to do in allowing Donatello to stay dead or a robot). Overall, longtime fans of this series should find plenty of reasons throughout this story to move them - be it thrills and excitement or sombre moments of pause. Even those who have a more casual interest in the TMNT and want to see what these characters are up to will find plenty to recognize to keep their interest and even more questions raised that will encourage at least a few to stick around and see what happens next. There's a lot to take in, and it can be a little dizzying at times to keep up with it all given how big and bombastic the team takes this story, but it should be a crowd-pleaser all the same. I've referenced a few titles for consideration when it comes to the best single issue of 2019. The first issue that comes to mind would be House of X #2 which covered the lives of Moira X. House of X #4 which covered the X-Men's assault on the Mother Mold facility. The Walking Dead also ended this year and did what Game of Thrones could not in providing a satisfying conclusion to that series.
Even with those releases, I feel pretty comfortable naming TMNT #100 as 2019's top comic. All opinions are subjective and I admit at the outset of this review that my enjoyment of this issue is colored by having read about 90% of all of the TMNT content that has been released since IDW acquired the IP.

Great issue that wrapped up the city at war arch leaving plenty of new directions for the book to go. The conclusion felt a little rushed but the resulting emotional ending scene after totally made up for it.

Not as Grand as the Big issue 50 wrap up...I liked splinters ending but found too many of the plot lines to conclude too easily

jumping back and forth through various artists was jarring.
a lot of the art looked very rushed and it really took me out of the story.
i guess my frustration really comes with just how much time & money this series takes to go nowhere.
they force readers (customers) to have to buy supplement mini-series and one-shots to get the full story, yet so many stories get dragged out endlessly and never really go anywhere, or have a satisfying conclusion.
plus what’s the point of buying a Ninja Turtle comic if the Ninja Turtles never really get to shine in their own series?
