But Why Tho? - William Tucker Sep 18, 2024

Superman #18 (2024) makes peace with a famous weakness. The art style fits the mystical nature of the book beautifully, making it as uncomfortable a journey as possible. Read Full Review

Superman's Absolute Power tie-in continues to be a shining example of what a tie-in and a team-up should be, and deserves all the praise. Read Full Review

Geek Dad - Ray Goldfield Sep 18, 2024

This continues to be one of the most consistent books at DC, and if Williamson had to pick one book to keep, I'm glad this is the one. Read Full Review

The Aspiring Kryptonian - The Aspiring Kryptonian Sep 18, 2024

What I will say is impressive about this series so far is the way that each of these separate comic series tie in and expand on the entire Absolute Power story arc so far. Whilst you aren't required to read all of the tie ins, I actually want to as they really do elaborate on the reasoning behind our heroes and villains decisions. Though as mentioned previously, my only criticism is the order in which they are released. Read Full Review

    Nerd Initiative - Ken M. Sep 18, 2024

Theres sympathy for a hero, but no devil as the struggles hit a definitive stop for Superman in this chapter. Williamson weaves a debate about magic through conflict with his excellent writing. Campbell continues to impress with the high level imagery. This one will have fans excited as the Man of Steel heads back into the fight for Absolute Power! Read Full Review

Supergirl Comic Box Commentary - Anj Sep 20, 2024

Off to the end of Absolute Power. I liked this issue but it seemed like none of this mini-storyline of the Mordru Map in the end seemed to matter. A still powerless Superman is on Earth to fight Amanda Waller. No complaints with the art or the character moments at all.  Read Full Review

Weird Science - Gabe Hernandez Sep 18, 2024

Superman #18 concludes Superman's magical adventure with Zatanna and continues the fight for Absolute Power. Joshua Williamson does his darndest to pull out every trick and shiny spoon to make the issue look cool, but the story essentially ended after page five, so everything afterward is a chaotic waste of page space. The Comic Book Spot - Gareth Turner Sep 23, 2024

Superman #18 is not a bad issue, but it's neither essential for the ongoing Absolute Power crossover nor is it accessible as a standalone story. As a result, while it avoids any offensive missteps, it also fails to rise to greatness. Read Full Review
