The Uncanny X-Men #28 does so much more than packs a punch. It’s like taking an uppercut from the Hulk. There’s so much to love in this comic, and this arc as a whole. The creative team continues to knock it out of the park and sing to our X-Men-loving hearts. Read Full Review

    AIPT - David Brooke

    May 13, 2026

Uncanny X-Men #28 keeps the momentum going with a strong mix of reveals, action, and escalating danger. Gail Simone continues to juggle multiple threads with confidence, even if the balance is not perfect in a single issue format. The Graymalkin plot stands out the most, pushing the tension higher while tying back to earlier seeds in satisfying ways. The Outliers storyline leans fully into the strange, but it pays off with exciting action and intriguing developments. There are still questions left hanging, but enough is revealed to keep readers hooked and invested in what comes next. Read Full Review

This storyline has gotten more and more confusing to the point that it would be nearly unreadable without Vecchio’s artwork holding it up like atlas and the sky. Read Full Review

    Astonishingly Awful

A confusing and convoluted issue. I wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t get a satisfying conclusion to this mess next issue.

Read issue 1 of the from the Ashes. it's not terrible. its not good but its something. Since then it's been a downward spiral. just when I think its reached a new low...Somehow Gail is getting worse. the characters you care about like wolverine rogue etc. appear on 4 total pages and do nothing. instead its back to Gails created characters only hijacking this book. The plot is a total disaster. just an utter mess with no meaningful progression to an end or why any of this is happening. We just know this will lead to no pay off . Gail is trying to write a mystery but the only mystery is why I'm still reading. When we get Monet appearing I held my head. How much worse can this get? well turns out I simply lacked sufficient imagination. R more
