I didn’t read the Williamson run because his stuff is not for me. Did Williamson soften the character from the Morrison tomasi Damian or did someone else do that?
MEMENTO'S GRUESOME RAMPAGE ACROSS GOTHAM CONTINUES! A hospital erupts in flames. A boat careens into a dock. Fresh corpses are found in the ruins of Arkham Asylum. These are but a few of Gotham's historical atrocities, committed in disturbing, copycat-like fashion by the foul creature known only as Memento. While the dynamic duo fails to prevent these heinous acts, the very fabric of their alliance frays and rips. Can Batman withstand losing his city to violence while losing his son to uncertainty?
If youre a fan of detective-driven Batman stories that blend psychological horror with raw emotion, this issue is a must-read. With its razor-sharp writing, breathtaking visuals, and unpredictable twists, Batman and Robin #18 cements itself as one of the best Bat-books on shelves right now. Read Full Review

Phillip Kennedy Johnson is an incredible writer and it's exciting to watch him work. This is a dark, complicated Batman and Robin story, one in which the villain seems to exist more as a slate on which the emotional heart of the narrative is written. I am intensely engaged and cannot wait to see the next installment. Read Full Review

Batman & Robin #18 might have some flaws, but this run continues to be intriguing. There are a few questions that still need to be answered like the true identity of Memento, what his motivations are, and Damian's future as Robin. Will the creative team be able to conclude everything in a satisfying manner? I'm looking forward to finding out. Read Full Review
Another great issue. Though I thought Damien listening in the conversation with pretty stupid. Wouldn't Batman know if someone was listening in on his conversation? What if someone hacked into his comms? There should be some kind of alert. I understand that he needed Damien and Bruce to have a miscommunication, but there could have been another way. I liked all of the other scenes, especially between Damien and the investigator and the reveal.

Batman is a jerk. Damian and Jason Todd are cool.
I don’t like the change in artist (too different from regular artist) and Damian is very different from what I remember.
And it’s progressing slow (we are 5 issues in to this story but that’s just modern comics). But I do like it. I liked the Bruce Jason conversation and some of the horrific drug induced imagery.
Both the art and the writing took a step backwards this issue. I don’t feel like Johnson has Damian’s personality and voice nailed down as well as Williamson had previously, and while it didn’t hurt the previous chapters much, this issue it became more noticeable.
