I hope The Wild was behind or manipulating Goldy because I also haven’t liked that aspect of this second half.
DAREDEVIL IN HELL! Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto are on the last leg of their tour de force through Matt Murdock's life...and afterlife.
Rated T+
This entire comic transcends what I thought Daredevil comics were capable of whilst still feeling true to not just Zdarskys run, but the character as a whole. Its mindblowing, but enough foundations had been laid to feel earned. Read Full Review
Daredevil #13 takes the phrase “go big or go home” to heart with a massive fight in the pit of Hell to save Daredevil's friends. The writing and art are beyond reproach, and the ending sets an impossibly high bar heading into the finale. Read Full Review
Daredevil #13 is an incredible penultimate chapter for Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto's "The Red Fist Saga. Everything that happens in this issue has an epic scale that works to spotlight what drives Matt Murdock as Daredevil. It all sets up the final issue by Zdarsky and Checchetto to be a strong epilogue to their creative run on Daredevil. Read Full Review
Checchetto delivers beautifully detailed art that transports the reader into the dark and dangerous realm of the Beast. Matt is brought to brilliant life in this issue and the action is a visual thrill. Read Full Review
With two Zdarsky-written issues left after last month, the natural thing would be to expect a two-part final battle against the Beast to rescue Matts friends and tie up what loose ends remain. Daredevil #13 proves to be an effective and surprising penultimate entry, and it leaves the final issues events even more up in the air. Read Full Review

There's an epic majesty evidenced in Marco Checchetto's artwork as it depicts a sprawling vision of Hell defined by tall towers and staircases that hearken back to epic poetry. It makes for a grand spectacle as Daredevil, now garbed in white, battles The Beast's enormous form. Read Full Review
“I fight for love.”
The portrayal of Matt’s faith in this issue is the best this character ever had. If you want to know the essence of who Matthew Murdock really is, this is the issue to read.
Absolutely a 10 no questions about it. This has been one of the best runs of DD. It sucks that it all comes to a end next issue. What a great ride thank you Chip and Marko. Phenomenal Jeff's Kiss.
I'm not a Catholic or even a Christian, but the portrayal of Matt's faith in his God and his friends and how that faith carries him through a terrible final betrayal was so powerful it moved me to tears. I think I'll save what else I have to say about this incredible run for the finale.
This feels like the culmination not just of Zdarsky’s run, but of every Daredevil story ever told. As always, Checchetto makes the action feel epic—there’s no other word for it—and it’s all backed up by an emotional gut punch. I’m sad that this creative team only has one more issue, but at the same time I’m glad that they were able to end their story so perfectly.
I’m still a little perplexed about Goldy’s role in all this. Was the Beast or the Wild using him to mess with Matt? I think that’s what’s happening, maybe it will be explained further next issue. So far that has been the only aspect of the run that hasn’t quite worked for me, but if what I think is happening is correct, then my qualms are moot.
Insane art
Love the twist with the Fist in this issue. Love the white DD costume need a 2nd print with that. Well done Chip you will be missed and hopefully you take over Amazing Spider-man!
Series continues to be excellent. The art is flawless. Just insane.
The narrative is quite fantastical for this character but its also stuff he's done before. I'm really not sure where it goes from here; but im along for the ride.
this issue feels like the run of an era, and while it falters a bit I still really enjoyed this issue. I hope the final issue sticks hte landing
The surprise last-minute antagonist came so far out of left field that it threw me utterly out of the story. At first I thought I was missing some piece of established Daredevil lore, but nope, this is apparently the first/last/only appearance of that baddy. In retrospect, this whole arc is riddled with supporting characters with unclear motivations (looking at you again, Goldie), and this final one takes the cake.
Which is a shame, because the storytelling work is sterling. Good writing and great art make this a very good comic in my eyes, despite the plot developments making little sense.
Once again, it's pretty good, but just feels like the impact it wants isn't coming across as planned.
Chip loves to cut off limbs. Batman and now Daredevil. I don't think adding a supernatural element works for Daredevil. A street-level character going to hell and interacting with what are essentially ghosts doesn't really work for me. Let's see how this wraps up.
A little too weird, even for me. Sorry.
Daredevil going to hell to free his loved ones' souls, fighting demons. This shit is corny af. I really loved everything Zdarsky was doing up until this issue. Good fuckan grief. I gave it a 5/10 because the art is 10/10.
Art 10, Story 0.
I have sadly watched this arc go further and further off the rails, and into pseudo-Christian nonsense, and now it's descended into complete incomprehensibility. Not to mention that several dead and buried friends of Matt suddenly reappear on Earth, bodies intact, just taking a marked path back to the land of the living. And Matt single-handedly, even without a corporeal body - and still with his billy stick, beats off demons. OMG. Complete and utter BS. Fantastic art, tho.
