FALLOUT!
The wheels have come off the Hellions bandwagon. They might all hate one another, but Nanny LOVES her latest addition! Who would be so cruel as to stomp on her happiness? It's not who you think!
PARENTAL ADVISORY
Everything Hellions has been building to since its debut begins to collide in a highly emotional and engaging way that never strays from the book's winning character-focused format. Change is coming for Krakoa and this series is clearly one of the stepping stones to what will be coming next for the future of the mutant society. Read Full Review
I would be worried about slipping into hyperbole when praising this story, but the book's so good that it honestly deserves it. I am absolutely in love with these murderous underdogs. Read Full Review
Hellions #16 is an issue of build-up expertly done. Wells lays out a script that is heavy on emotion, and it lands amazingly, with Segovias pencils bringing it all to life. This is set up done right. Read Full Review
Hellions#16 hits the emotional beats where it needs to and begins to wrap up the series on a holistic note. It's sad to see the book go, but it's clear Wells is doing this on his own terms, giving the series a chance to reach its natural conclusion. After all, isn't that the best way to end a story? However, with the good does come a bit of bad. HELLIONS #16 ends with the focus on Nanny and it just wasnt as exciting or passionate as the rest of the issue. Ultimately, the ending of the issue fell a bit flat compared to the rest of the comic. Plus, the Nanny elements of the team were never really the strongest components. And now, it appears as though the series is heading down that avenue for at least an issue or two coming up. That said, Nanny has always added a unique wrinkle to the team that has made her a strong side character. Still, the lead for an issue or two may be too much. Read Full Review
Hellions, you truly were the best of the "Reign of X." While the series will be missed, I simply cannot wait to see how it all ends. Read Full Review
Overall Hellions managed to show us that even a more low-key issue could pack just as much of a punch as the more action or comedic installments of the series. There are some fantastic character moments in this issue alone that reinforces why this has been and continues to be one of the top x-books being released. Read Full Review
"Hellions" is a team book, so roster changes are par for the course, but in the Hickman-era no team can truly compete with the Hellions, even if they are breaking down. "Hellions" No.16 let's readers in on the secret adhesive that holds this title together as other groups go about their fall in the vein of "X-Factor" & "Children of the Atom" . There's evolution regardless even if the reset button is pushed a few more times. Read Full Review
Zeb Wells made the best title of the X-Men by being consistent, character focused, and keeping his eye on the theme. This issue tore me apart in ways I never imagined it would.
This was a really great issue. I can't wait to see how the last two issues play out.
The Hellions have pretty much reached rock bottom at this point as the team seems to disband for good with many of them planning to murder each other. Zeb Wells has made me care a lot about this odd-ball group of maniacs and I'm sad to see this series ending so soon.
Best issue so far.
Great issue! This is has turned out to be the best X-Book in the line. Zeb Wells is so good, he made me care about a nanny in an egg costume along with all the misfits in this disaster of a team. Segovia coming back is well appreciated because this is his craft as much as Wells.
Another great issue by Zeb Wells. I thought this was especially good in humanizing Empath-- just a little, and giving us some background on Nanny. Must find out what's inside the egg!
The Kwannon stuff for me is just meh, she's just there but not one of my favorites.
Pretty intense & kept me thoroughly engaged throughout.
Segovia's return provided some tasty icing on the cake.
Very fond of this series overall & have nothing but praise for it, pretty much.
The Hellions shatter in the aftermath of their latest adventure. But the bad news never stops; this issue visits some extra sorrow on Nanny when the Right (and her ex-husband !?!) attack her. The script is slow and terse and I think the art, though nicely polished, could be more expressive. But this issue is a powerful demonstration of how badly hurt the whole team is at this point; it's an effective (though dark) ensemble character study.
