Hellions #15 is everything this series offers at its best with gripping, three-dimensional characters, humor and horrific violence that defy imagination, and the freedom to tell a story with no preconceived endings. The results are gripping, as always. Read Full Review
This issue is a brutal, hilarious, corpse-laden ride, punctuated with humor and surprising heart. I just can't wait to see what happens next! Read Full Review
HELLIONS #15 is one heck of a wild ride. And, this ride has a handful of twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat once this issue gets cookin'! It's fast-paced and well-balanced with the perfect amount of action to keep fans involved. The art was a bit too dark and graphic for my specific taste yet that didn't make it necessarily bad by any stretch. Read Full Review
Piece by piece the house that Sinister built continues to crumble as the lies that the Hellions have been built upon begin to rear their heads, one by one. One of the best titles of the X-Line continues to showcase why it has that distinction by presenting a beautiful ongoing character-focused storyline. Read Full Review
Hellions #15 starts like any other chapter of the book, and then the ending hits and just shifts the whole thing into another gear. Wells is doing a fantastic job with this book, and Antonio continually knocks it out of the park on pencils. This story has opened this book up to go in so many directions, and it will be a treat to see where this stellar team takes it. Read Full Review
Overall, this issue laid everything out on the table. Some of the ramifications of the secrets revealed will potentially have lasting impact not only on the members of the Hellions but of other members of Krakoa as well. I’m really excited to see where this book heads next. Read Full Review
Hellions#15 displays the wonderful dysfunction of the team and makes the book feel relevant and fresh, including in plot beats that feel like they have major implications. Read Full Review
Unexpected twists and turns abound in the closing chapter of this satisfying arc. A spy within the team is revealed, Sinister finally gets his comeuppance, Greycrow unleashes on the Locus Vile, and Psylocke may have just experienced a heartbreak she might not recover from.
They're back...
in RARE FORM!!
A hard-hitting issue that handily demonstrates why this series has struck such a chord with fans.
SO.
GOOD. Just come prepared with Empath-y for:
CRAZY Havok, and SADness for everyONE else.
A little heavy on the plot, so there's not a ton of humor in this issue, but it's all well written nonetheless.
Zeb Wells is the most consistent writer in this bunch. He is actually moving the story forward and the editors are letting/helping along much better than the other books. The scripts are always amusing and tight with plenty to shew on. I do miss Segovia as I would have preferred him on art duty this issue but Roge Antonia is not bad, just a bit rushed for my taste.
Hellions has been moved up to #1 in the X-line of books closely followed by New Mutants. That's it. I follow X-men by Duggan because Pepe Larraz is a tremendous artist.
Against all odds, the Hellions send Tarn and the Locus packing. All of Sinister's secret biz comes out along the way, and the team furiously confronts him. But it all ends in ashes from an unexpected direction. The plotting is brilliant and tragic and clever, and there's a lot of juicy meat in the script -- equal parts comedy and horror. The limitations of the art get a little more regrettable, though. There's the potential for some Immortal Hulk-level body horror here and the visuals don't pay it off in full.
