Great premise, great story, and great art. I like the "consequences-of-actions" and sense of danger that has been returned to the X-Men/mutants post-Krakoan resurrections (e.g. the fact that Psylocke and Penance are introduced as hit-and-run mutant partisans makes sense now that the odds are stacked against them and fatal mistakes they make can't be corrected through resurrection).

Time travel is not my favorite sci-fi plot device, but if Steve Orlando is going to use time travel in the way that Kate Pryde is suggesting, it may become more of a semi fleshed-out "character" for this story rather then just a convenient plot device. OK...I admit that I have only started reading Captain Marvel recently because of the inclusion of my favorite X-Man (Psylocke), but DAMN!...this is some good sh!t. The story is nicely paced and while I'm not very familiar with Captain Marvel, I'm able to follow along. But as good as the story has been, the art in this issue is NEXT level. Very much looking forward to the rest of the issues.

I know some have taken issue with Eleonora Carlini's art because it is outside of the "psuedo-realism" comic book norm, but I love it. Each panel looks like a 'still' taken from a high-quality animated movie (e.g. Don Bluth's "The Secret of Nimh" or the more recent "Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse"). It's unique, but in a good way.
