This issue takes a short narrative journey that doesn't move the storyline forward in a massively significant way but compelling writing, glorious art, some mysterious motivations and a blast from her past make this fourth chapter in the series another near flawless installment in one of the best mini series of the current era. With guest artist, Moiss Hidalgo, taking the reins on Psylocke #4, I wasn't sure what to expect as I have loved all of the art in the past issues. Hidalgo did a fantastic job in the fourth installment and really captured the eerie feeling that is present throughout the comic. When Kwannon is inside Ty's home, there's a ominous energy throughout the comic as you don't know what she is about to walk into, and Hidalgo nailed it. Along with Fer Sifuentes-Sujo who handled the colors, and Ariana Maher on letters, Psylocke continues to be visually entertaining and really captures the essence of Kwannon as a character. Though it may not play into the unsettling aspects of Haniver as it could, the fourth issue of Psylocke definitely has a firm grasp of what makes for an interesting story with this particular type of hero. Eliminate all of the peripheral stuff and just focus-in on the hero in action and see what happens. Its pretty remarkable stuff once it gets going. If the series could just focus on framing the action with a bit more of an amplification of the horror, it could really turn into something remarkable. Wongs doing a great job, though. While the pacing stalls slightly in anticipation of the next big clash, the creative use of Psylocke's abilities and engaging themes make this a must-read for fans of the character. Read Full Review
