Well written, well drawn—its World’s Finest, people, you know what to expect.
Solid issue. You knew what was coming. The group was fraying too much and this was the big break. This mini-series reads like a classic tale of a young group of heroes trying to form a team. It has a very nostalgic feel. A bit of paint by the numbers if you ask me but a very nice paint by the numbers. Waid just shines up old concept and tropes really well to deliver a solid issue. It does its job well and leads clearly into the last issue with a potentially re-energized team.
Haywire is a weak idea i fear
