I'm curious. Why 1? I'd love to hear your stance.
The remains of Evergreen are scavenged for clues as to what happenedto this quaint small town. Meanwhile, Jo faces down the hulking threatof Hal Jordan!
This is the kind of series that rewards patience, and as we get to the end of the first arc, it looks like the pace is only going to speed up from here. Read Full Review

Ultimately, Absolute Green Lantern #5 delivers a turning point: a haunting exploration of memory, guilt, and power, anchored by a devastating personal conflict. As Hals transformation into an unstoppable menace becomes more literal and Jos resolve hardens, the series reaffirms itself as one of the most compelling horrortinged superhero narratives in the Absolute Universe. Its a bold escalation that pays off the slow burn of earlier issues while opening new, unsettling lines of inquiry. For fans invested in what Jo and Hal might becomeor destroythis issue is not to be missed. Read Full Review
Lindsay creates beautifully detailed and visually dynamic art throughout the issue. I like the visual style of the story and how compelling the action looks. Read Full Review
While the art and action of Absolute Green Lantern #5 are a definite highlight, the comic is held back from its full potential by ongoing issues with pacing and unclear character motivations. Read Full Review
Absolute Green Lantern Issue 5 is caught between being stuck and moving on. It is reaching that point where new elements are landing around the town. Hopefully, the end of the issue signals a shift forward. Read Full Review
I'm so glad that Ewing is finally getting to the meat of the arc. We now have explanations for a fair bit that we were missing and we have some excellent bits that have been set up for future issues. Lindsay's artwork is great, aside from some of the background linework that lets the quality of each panel down just a bit. Read Full Review
Absolute Green Lantern #5 is a prime example of a comic that struggles to find its footing. The narrative ambiguity is overwhelming, leaving readers more frustrated than entertained. While there are hints of interesting ideas, they are lost in the chaotic execution of both the writing and the art. It's a shame, as the potential is there, but this issue simply fails to deliver a cohesive or engaging experience. Read Full Review
After 3 consecutive issues where barely anything happened to move the present-day storyline forward, we finally get progress and forward momentum this issue, and quite exciting momentum at that. A nice rebound for the series, and hopefully a sign of things to come.
I feel very similarly to the way I've felt over the course of the whole series. This is good and interesting, with a lot of good mystery surrounding it. I completely trust Ewing here, as I know how good he is. Lindsay is putting out good work here as well. I definitely see the manga/anime comparisons, though he's won me over with his work thus far.
calm down guys, review bombing this title will not get anything.
I still think this is title is improving, its starting to make more sense and i like (most of) the changes. I am linking even the art.
While Absolute Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter aren't my favorite bunch of the Absolute series but I still think they are very good. I like how this Absolute Universe twists Ab in Sur and Hector Hammond, and the art has grown on me
I think starting next issue this will start making sense and become good. Fingers crossed.
the black hand hal jordan is the best for this comic. I still have questions about their powers. I'll keep reading though.
The non linear thing isn’t working at all
Yeah
I had high expectations for this book, but I'm done
Sojourner Mullein really is an annoying character. Her power was stolen, which caused the death of an entire city, and then she had the nerve to stand on the moral high ground and accuse Hal. BTW does Ewing know that Green Lantern Oath was originally written by Hal in Silver Age canon? He really changed it into a cheap love word of a broken couple?
