X Deaths of Wolverine #5finds Wolverine fighting for the future of the X-Men and launches the Second Age of Krakoa. Not only did this story live up to its hype, but it's the perfect set-up for the "Destiny of X" storyline that begins next week with Immortal X-Men. This is not just a great Wolverine story it's a great story for anyone who's been invested in the X-Men since the Krakoa era began. Read Full Review
X DEATHS OF WOLVERINE #5 is the epic climax to the biggest #Wolverine event ever! Wolverine might have stopped Moira, but this is just the beginning of the #DestinyOfX! Read Full Review
X Deaths Of Wolverine #5 is a good, if predictable, ending. Percy and Vicentini do a good job on this issue, and it looks like the ending will play well into the future. X Deaths has been the more important book of this event, and while the ending is a little formulaic, it still works and bodes well for the future. Read Full Review

A feast for the eyes of action aficionados and a wrap-up of a mega-Wolverine event amounts to a satisfying conclusion. It may not hold answers or major developments for the X-Men comics line, but it was an enjoyable action-focused series. Read Full Review
Overall, X DEATHS OF WOLVERINE spirals back to the overarching premise in comics today. All the toys need to be put back in the toy box exactly where they were found when you're done with them. But by doing so, it takes the wind out of the sails, deflates the story, and makes its purpose meaningless. Read Full Review
As an X-Men action story, this issue is a lot of fun. As an event setting up the next stage of the X-Men line, it unfortunately falls short. Read Full Review
It was unwise to prop these Wolverine-centered series as spiritual successors to House of X and Powers of X. It set them up to disappoint, and disappoint they did. Read Full Review
Wow! the finale was brilliant!!!! This was one of my all-time favorite storylines! It did what it should do too it ends setting up the next phase in such a grand fashion my anticipation for the next phase of x couldn't be higher! Benjamin Percy know wolverine he knows the X-Men and he knows how to write a phenomenal story! It's a fantastic time to be a X-Men fan and a fantastic time to be a reader of comic books!
Logan saves the day in the usual manner, by being tougher and stabbity-er than anybody else, even his own future self. It's a tale told with talent, but not exactly a novel tune.
It's generally very good, with a few flashes of greatness: The brilliant way the first scene calls back to PoX #1, the hint of who's about to come out of the Pit, Beast's line about what saves the world.
I hesitated to rate the whole thing as great, but the fact that it's virtually free of faults or weaknesses pushed it over the line.
I do prefer Deaths to Lives, though. Deaths is all the better for glossing over some of the future deaths; I wonder why Mr. Percy insisted on showing all the past lives in Lives?
Great ending.
This was enjoyable but I somehow still feel like the whole series missed the mark. This should have been a Moira-X 10-12 issues mini from Hickman (I know I'm not over it yet) to do it justice especially those Moira pages about the big moves for her lives and the next chapter. We do 2 years with nothing about Moira then we get inferno followed by 5 issues going 100 mph which is a bit fast. But Percy did alright. Vicentini's art is fantastic and Lima colors came through well!
A pretty solid ending, but it did leave a little to be desired considering the "event" as a whole, in my opinion. With the past four issues having a good amount of focus on Moira, she's now nowhere to be seen until the final page or two. Instead, we get the main Logan coming from X Lives of Wolverine to come fight Omega Wolverine. The fight was fun and Vicentini's art was pretty good throughout, but the way this and X Lives were put together was a little odd, at least to me. Either way, I didn't dislike any of the issues. It may be a little odd, but everything I read was enjoyable.
Solid enough ending to this event, but I wish it had the oomph that other X-events have had lately. This felt like Inferno being reiterated, especially with that cliffhanger ending. It doesn't excite me the way it should have.
really enjoyed this event. I liked this issue and how entertaining and cool it is. If I were to grade this entire event it would be a 7 out of 10.
The Moira weird stuff ruins the mood of an otherwise great ending.
X Lives was frustrating because it was 4 issues of a mediocre story that ended with a great finale. X Deaths on the other hand was 4 issues of interesting action that concluded with a lackluster 5th issue.
I don't think I like what Percy has done to Moira throughout this story...seems way off base from Hickman's vision.
I really don't know what Hickman's plans were for Moira, but I doubt this mess was it.
After preferring the X Deaths half of the story for most of the past 10 weeks, I think X Lives managed to do a much better job with it's wrap up. A lot of the Moira developments here came off as completely rushed and needed much, much more space than they were provided.
We basically speed ran through anger at the loss of her powers, cancer, impromptu limb removal, a confrontation with Mystique, skinning Banshee alive, attacking Krakoa single-handedly, and apparently creating an entire backup AI persona, to get a big villain turn that I don't think works all that well.
The Wolverines/Phalanx plot was much more fun even if it ultimately didn't add up to much either. Overall I don't know what to make of this crossover ev more
I bailed on all of the X books a while back after all of this Krakoa nonsense. Wolverine has always been one of my favorites, so I decided to give this a try. I thought that both this series and the X Lives series were just garbage and it will probably be quite a while before I try another X book!
