X-Men #31 is a good start to a new arc and shows a lot of promise. Getting back to the main overall story is a plus and can’t wait to see where they take this story. This is a perfect jumping on point for anyone that wants to dip their toe into the X-Men world. When you’re at the LCS this week consider grabbing a copy! Read Full Review

Tony S. Daniel creates some beautifully detailed and visually interesting art throughout the issue. I really like the visual style of the story and look forward to seeing what art comes next. Read Full Review

X-Men #31 begins a new “Anomaly” storyline without laying interesting plot threads or doing any character work and instead relies on unimportant dialogue and a lazy last-page reveal. Read Full Review

    Astonishingly Awful

I didn’t want to read this title anymore, but flipping through the book, the art looked pretty good and there seemed to be some character development for several members, especially Animalia and Ben, the latest additions to the team. So since I’m a sucker for character growth and the whole soap opera aspect of the X-Men, that most writers seem to have forgotten about, I thought I’d give it a chance.
In the end, it‘s less of that than I expected, but probably the best issue of Unlikable X-Men so far, maybe because all the members I really don’t like are absent from the team.

Well this book debuts a “science team” lead by Beast. If that sounds interesting to you at all then we are very different people. We get no lead up, nothing to this storyline. It just happens as the details are revealed via exposition dumps that are a bore to read. Also we retcon and abandon Magnetos RLDS. Now it’s a disease from the future. Caused by …no clue , who? No clue! To what end? reasons we don’t know yet. Why he knew all about RLDS and whatever testing beast did to confirm it , all out the window. As Jed scrambles to move on from that stupid idea and it’s embarrassing to read it happening.
Most of the book is a word bubble party.
Then a kinda reveal at the end but who cares ? This book sucks. The white tiger lady more
