Given its focus on a non-movie cast of characters and the seedier side of the Star Wars universe, Doctor Aphra succeeds more than any of Marvel's Star Wars books in bringing something new and different to the table. Read Full Review
Doctor Aphra's a book that I'm still waiting for it to really hit its groove, especially compared to what we get from the character in the previous Vader series, and an issue like this is a step in the right direction. She's a smooth talker and there are some fun interactions to be had here but it just lacks enough tension or energy to carry it all forward in the way that it needs to in order to be exciting. Walker and Deering continue to put in a solid job with the layouts and character designs and there has to be a lot of fun in getting to work on such a range of creatures, though I do wonder how many reference materials they must have looked at in order to nail the looks just right. Some more good character moments from Aphra. She shows a rare silver lining in this issue. Gillen continues to deliver on some good humor and an overall fun issue.
A fun issue introducing a whole different cast of seedy space characters. A good read, with strong Kev Walker art.
Aphra entertains different offers, which is not really anything special yet the creators still managed to keep it entertaining.
