Here, at the bottom of the ocean, at the bottom of the earth, Dr. Randolph Stein is about to plumb the depths of his very soul, as he discovers that some things can't be explained by facts, or science or reason. Some things do defy explanation. Something does live down here in the black water of the Marianes Trench, and it wants to show Stein its secret, whether he wants to see it or not.
As The Depths comes to an end, I'm fully satisfied with the latest Marvel Knights offering. Milligan told a quality tale with a strong emotional finish. Ribic turned in some of the best work of his career. And I now have another book that will rest of the top of the list when it comes to making recommendations. Read Full Review

This conclusion was fine. Overall, this mini-series was not what I was expecting, perhaps not what I'd hoped, but it was not bad, and it certainly was not deserving of the very low ratings it received by other reviewers. Ribic's art elevates this story significantly, and without him it would be much, much less worth anyone's time, but for what it was, I don't regret reading it. It was cool to see Namor depicted in such a terrifying light.
