When a magical landmark like Asgard crashes to Earth, the fallout doesn't end just by sweeping up the wreckage. This historic disaster has unleashed unprecedented threats, and one of them is pillaging the American Midwest! This sounds like the perfect mission for Luke Cage's untested team of incarcerated superhumans- and while the newly assembled Thunderbolts boast the power of Juggernaut, Ghost, Moonstone, Crossbones and Man-Thing, are even they ready to handle the girl known only as...Troll?

I've been following Thunderbolts since the very beginning, through all its reinventions and I'm sure this is going to be regarded as one of the signature runs. Parker and Walker are picking this book up and making it their own, while still honoring what's come immediately before in Siege as well as the title. This is one of stand-out comics this week. You really should pick it up. I can't wait to see what happens next and what dark twists these two have in store for us. Read Full Review

Wow, this comic keeps getting better! The creative team is pure dynamite and they've succeeded in crafting stories that are making me excited to read comics again, and that's what it's all about. Easily one of my favorite ‘Heroic Age' titles right now, and I encourage you to check it out! Read Full Review

This is another solid issue that confirms Thunderbolts should not be ignored. Parker and Walker are injecting a bit of fun and excitement into the title, both of which have been missing for quite some time. This is the most consistently enjoyable title with the Heroic Age banner and anyone looking to read a great team book would do well to give Thunderbolts a read. Read Full Review

This issue wasn't fantastic, but it showed some definite promise, and I'm interested in seeing where Parker leads it, and what kinds of squads he puts together, as he's said previously that the make-up of teams could potentially be flexible. I look forward to seeing how the book utilizes the supporting cast, including John Walker, and seeing how Juggernaut is utilized, coming off of his recent appearance in Amazing Spider-Man. It is, however, a shame that the character is once-again depowered, as his prior appearance to Amazing Spider-Man was when he got repowered up to the max during World War Hulk in the first place. Poor guy can't catch a break. There's potential here, that's for sure, and I look forward to reading more, once the title really starts to get going. Read Full Review

Comic Book Resources - Timothy Callahan Jun 27, 2010

Jeff Parker has taken this series in a fun new direction without losing the viciousness at its core. It's good, it's weird, and it has just enough Man-Thing to go around. Read Full Review
