I don't want this criticism to affect the perception of this book. In my previous reviews, I've spoke of my hopes that Parker will take a break from the current time-jumping arc, and he delivered with this issue. Read Full Review

Due to the trippy nature of this issue, it is hard to decipher what actually went down. Was the encounter with Ghost real? Where did the villains make off to? What is Luke Cage's new worst fear? It is hard to say, but even with Villains for Hire debuting last month, Parker continues to dominate the field as far as team books are concerned. Read Full Review

The "nightmares/fears" of a character has been done before (by Parker in the very book, both with Juggernaut and further back to Osborn's Thunderbolts hit-squad when they fort the Agents of Atlas); but despite being a "been there, done that" theme, it worked really well. It covered A LOT of Cage's thoughts and feelings towards his team. The fact his nightmares showed concern for Ghost, Moonstone, Boomerang and Fixer tells a lot; and the continual moving forward of the main plot with Ghost's time-travel made this issue more than "just" a stand-alone/irrelevant read. BUT the cheap undone-ending really does leave a sour taste in my mouth. Read Full Review

"Thunderbolts" #168 feels like a bit of set-up for later stories, but right now it's not as much fun as what we've been getting with the other half of the cast. Fortunately, I suspect their spotlight is just right back around the corner. Not the best issue to jump in on, although Southworth fans will definitely want to take a look. Still, even a below-average issue of "Thunderbolts" these days isn't a bad comic, and I'll definitely be back for future issues. Read Full Review
