Most of the story feels like it happened before the first issue and we're playing catch-up along with the investigating agents. Even with that small tic, Wolverine: The Long Night is one of the best Logan stories that Marvel has published in years. Read Full Review
The five-part series reaches its mid-way part in a charming style that makes up for some of its repetition. There are ways to make this sort of investigative drama live a bit more dynamically on the page, but they would require a far less straightforward rendering of the action that might get in the way of the story. Pierce and Marshall get almost all the pieces together on the table: A town awash in the potential for violence and Logan in the middle of it all getting frustrated with the secrets. There's still doubtless a surprise or three waiting in the wings, but this issue feels like the end of a satisfying set-up. I hope we're headed straight into resolution!
