At least the art remains appealing. David Baldeon's work complements the script with bright, expressive figures and some engaging action sequences. It's nice to see the X-Men all working and fighting as a team, especially when characters like Gambit and Iceman start to break out the fancy moves. Oh, well thank the gods, Our Lord and Savior is on the case!! Why the hell should I even bother reading the next issue of this series since we ALL know what's gonna happen! Here's a hint, it involves Our Lord and Savior Hope defeating Exodus, probably with ease, while every other character in the comic book(as well as probably Exodus himself) stands around kissing her ass. So yeah, basically I HATED the ending of this one... This issue was moving along fine and good until the appearance of that damned Hope... I mean come on, I drop every series where she may pop up and what happens? She pops up in this series! I just have no luck sometimes... Read Full Review
While the results aren't entirely great, it's likely Gage's run will improve when he gets used to the characters. Still, it's hard to deny a slow start, particularly after Carey's years of excellence. There are hints here of the greatness present in Gage's "Avengers Academy" but he has a little more work to do until his X-Men can properly shine. Let's hope it normalizes soon. Read Full Review
