"PURPLE" Pt. 2 (of 6) Secrets of one of the darkest chapters in Marvel Comics history are revealed in the story that changed Jessica Jones' life forever!
Since this is another in a long line of great Alias issues, Im rather disappointed that the series will end with issue #28. I cant really recommend this to new readers because of that, but those of you that have been there since the beginning will find that this may be the best issue to date. Read Full Review
Bagley is excellent in depicting the cockiness of an over-confident Jewel, walking head-on and unprepared into the Purple Man's nightmare. His hatred of costumed heroes makes her his whipping post, and Bagley's panel of a mind-controlled Jessica wearing the clothing of a sexual plaything is all the more tragic because it's Bagley drawing such a scene rather than Gaydos. Suffice it to say, under Killgrave's control, she pisses off the Avengers, leading to a very imposing Thor threatening her on the last page. Great work by all parties involved. Read Full Review
And that is a 10
This is one of the best issues in this series. Possibly the best. It shows the audience a lot about why Jessica Jones is the way she is and what Killgrave did to her when she was under his control. It is very different from the show but it still is really bad and it paints a great picture of how crazy and terrible the villain is. Its also a treat to have Luke Cage back as well. The happy looking Jewel story that gives some backstory or Killgrave is very cool as well. The art is so good.
Alias 25 is a fabulous issue with a great conversation between Jessica and Luke on the horrible things Kilgrave did to her. It’s a really powerful and well drawn issue
