It's college reunion time! Who'd have thought that it's already been fifteen years since Keg-Stand Craig and the new Dad on the block went to college? This one's like a buddy cop comedy, only there are no cops and more avoiding old flames while trying to stifle an existential breakdown, bro.
Honestly, this comic is the perfect dose of cute. And even if you haven't played the game, you could easily find the characters and story a delight. If you do play the game, it simply fleshes out the world of Maple Bay and the hot dads that live there. Read Full Review
Oni Press have an eclectic range of books to be sure. Give them their credit; whilst fans of the game will no doubt have their expectations, the dialogue, the setup and the covers go some way to more than hint at what is in the inside. If same-sex love between two men isn't your thing, then simply don't pick up the book. Don't buy it then complain about the content, as by doing so, you may miss that fact that really is a sweet love story between two people who are happy to be in each others life. Read Full Review
Overall, Dream Daddy #1 was an absolute pleasure to read and fans of the property new and old are sure to get their money's worth with this faithful, joyous adaptation. There is a moment near the end that felt like it didn't get a ton of lead up, but I'm so happy it happened anyway that I'm willing to suspend my disbelief a little and get my life. Dream Daddy #1 is lighthearted, but tugs at the heartstrings all the same! Not in a sad way, but more of a flutter as these two bros take on an evening with no kids. The cover gave me pause at first. "A Dad Dating Simulator". Ugh! Is this a kissing book? Was my first thought. Instead I began an immediately interesting story about two former college roommates and their night out. You can immediately feel the bond between the two men. Read Full Review
