During the darkest days of the Civil War, wicked cutthroats came into possession of six pistols of otherworldly power. In time, the Sixth Gun-the most dangerous of the weapons-vanished. When the gun surfaces in the hands of an innocent girl, dark forces reawaken. Vile men thought long dead set their sights on retrieving the gun and killing the girl. Only Drake Sinclair, a gunfighter with a shadowy past, stands in their way. The Sixth Gun is a two-fisted adventure set in the mysterious and supernatural corners of the old west.

I do wish that "The Sixth Gun" #2 was scheduled for June instead of July, but that's only because I don't want new readers to forget about the book. This is a great debut, and a smart way to do it. (And if your retailer runs out, well, there's a non-FCBD second printing of #1 also solicited for July alongside #2.) I'd have cheerfully paid full price for "The Sixth Gun" #1, and that's when you know you have a winner. Highly recommended. Read Full Review

With The Sixth Gun Bunn and Hurtt show us how to do a proper genre-bending comic, one where the supernatural elements purposefully weaved into the Western milieu and made intrinsic to the story as opposed to arbitrarily thrown in just to see what happens. One day well get exorcise the specter of Wild Wild West and stories like this help. Most importantly, its a fun book with loads of action and cool ideas. I cant wait to see how the rest of The Sixth Gun turns out. Read Full Review
