    ComicWow!TV - AD Boorman Oct 9, 2014

This is a well-written story with relatable characters and visually arresting monsters. There are a few places where the comic reads more like a video game, but the writers use fast pacing and discordant, nightmarish imagery to create and sustain an atmosphere of abject elemental fear. This is more than a good promotional tie-in. THE EVIL WITHIN stands on its own merits as a solid horror comic. Read Full Review

Comic Bastards - Dustin Cabeal Oct 15, 2014

The absolute best thing about this comic is that it puts you in the Halloween spirit. It tickles that slasher itch and is a welcomed addition to the horror genre. Even if you don't plan on playing the video game you should check this comic out. If you do plan on playing the game this will likely get you hyped for it in the best way possible. Read Full Review

Unleash The Fanboy - John McCubbin Oct 14, 2014

The Evil Within #1 proves to be one of the more successful video game tie-in comics, as though story wise it has a lot to work on, the horror aspect alone makes it a must read for anyone considering buying the game. It also allows more speculative gamers the chance to see what the game might produce. Highly recommended. Read Full Review

Comic Spectrum - Shawn Hoklas Oct 21, 2014

Although the designs of the “evil” characters are creative and frightening, I think their lack of personality and depth make them work better in the advertised concept art than the actual story. For fans of The Evil Within game, this series may provide more depth to the story throughout its four issues, but the lack of an engaging story where I cared about the characters made it questionable on whether it would be worth my time investment in knowing more. Front Towards Gamer - Lido Oct 16, 2014

At the end of the day I'm really not sure who The Evil Within the comic is for. The game only came out THIS week so I doubt there's anyone out there whose already enough of a fan to jump on this comic series, maybe it's meant to appeal to people who are interested but too poor to afford the game but if that's the case it seems like a serious waste of time and effort. You don't learn anything new about the story of the game or the protagonist or the monsters your fighting and as a stand alone story it's awkwardly structured and nowhere near as scary as it's trying to be; not recommended. Big Comic Page - Ross Sweeney Oct 14, 2014

It aims pretty big, and there's some vaguely interesting stuff going on here, but at the end of it all, the only shock is that it's Titan, rather than Dark Horse, that're putting it out. Sadly, this ends up being skippable, unless you suddenly become a massive fan of the game and are desperate to find out what happened before it. Read Full Review

    AIPT - Jordan Richards Oct 15, 2014

The Evil Within #1 is a mess from start to finish. The story is rushed, the characters are boring and unexplored, the writing is below average, and the artwork is rather weak. I don't know how exactly this comic will fit into the video game, but honestly, it's not doing a good job of making me want to find out. Best to just skip it. Read Full Review
