Unfortunately, the art is beginning to bug me more and more each month. Antonio Fuso's work was impressive enough on the original mini-series. His style is dark but also muted and understated, perfect for the tone the writers are trying to generate. Unfortunately, Costa can't seem to craft a convincing world for his characters to inhabit. Whenever a building or piece of architecture takes up significant page real estate, the eye can't help but notice how fake and unnatural it appears. Fuso slathers objects with cheap Photoshop filters. Rather than making these objects look stylized, it simply causes backgrounds and objects to stand out in awkward ways. Looking back at Fuso's work on Cobra Vol. 1, it's clear this is a more recent problem for the series. I hope it's something that can be addressed. The only thing keeping Vol. 2 from surpassing the original right now is the uneven execution of the art. Read Full Review
