Those who have been paying attention to the Hiro-Kala backups will likely find these next issues more enjoyable. The conflict with Hiro-Kala isn't given proper context or buildup in Greg Pak's main story, but that isn't necessarily Pak's responsibility. For his part, Pak tones down the silly drama and focuses more on Hulk's current state of mind. The newly cowed and de-powered Skaar is also very interesting to read, and a nice counter to the simple barbarian the character has been for much of his shelf life. I just wish the series did a better job of justifying its large cast. Many characters - Jen Walters, Lyra, and Korg - are so barely present as to not even be worthwhile additions to the book. Pak needs to either trim the fat or find a use for the forgotten members of the Hulk family. Perhaps a battle with Hiro-Kala is just the ticket. Read Full Review
Despite my criticisms, I feel like this issue is a step in the right direction from the previous and an improvement in terms of overall quality. I'm really starting to get hooked on the plot of this issue, especially with the inevitable showdown between Hulk and his clearly psychotic son HiroKala. Unfortunately, the execution fails to live up to the promise of the premise. Read Full Review
