Word Of The Nerd - Freeland Costin Jan 19, 2014

Pale Dark #01 has used a constant flow of mystery so it is practically impossible to not pick up the next issue. The lack of information works with the style of the book and it is what makes it so thrilling and unique. Would highly recommend picking up this book, it certainly fills the mystery element that is missing in the current comic book market. Read Full Review

Fortress of Solitude - Byron Hendricks Dec 6, 2013

This book is definitely heading in a great direction, as there is so much still to be explained. Right now we are in the middle of something that not even the protagonist understands. One thing is for certain though; this is going to be one psychological joy ride which might actually feature less joy and more torture and twists. Comic Bastards - James Anders II Nov 14, 2013

Like any good opening issue, an interesting “happening” occurs at the end that definitely adds to the confusion, but also makes you want to know more. I give this comic high marks for its development and luring of the reader into this strange world and for making you want more. As I understand it, Pale Dark was originally slated to be done as a movie. It didn't quite pan out, so the graphic novel seemed to be a logical step. An excellent choice I feel. If Pale Dark continues from the momentum generated from issue one, then a movie might just be in the future of this delightfully delicious story. Read Full Review

Florida Geek Scene - Peter Schmeiser Jan 1, 2014

The visual direction should have taken more advantage of the darkness and visual depravity to deepen the experience of bewildered disorientation, and I think it would have deepened the mystery and the readership would have felt a deeper sympathy for Subject K. Overall, its a strong story, so the mystery is good enough to keep us turning pages. Pale Dark has some room to run and certainly has me curious to see what issue has in store for us. Comic Booked - Jesse Peterson Nov 4, 2015

Overall, the book is a solid start. I do believe they should pick up the pace with the world building in issue two. Maybe give us some reason to get behind these heroes other than them just being tortured. Read Full Review
