The strange thing about this issue is that it reads like a one-shot. It’s not be any means as a huge plot point pays off in this issue, but even if it was your first time reading it you wouldn’t be lost in the story. Much of the previous eleven issues are masterfully recapped throughout the story so that it’s like you’ve reading it without even being there. That’s some real skill. While the plot didn't take any big steps regarding HARBINGER WARS, it managed to successfully implement the characters and close a fairly big chapter in Bloodshot's life. Additionally, I'm really digging the moments where we can see what's going on in Bloodshot's mind and he makes a huge development in there. BLOODSHOT is Valiant's way of serving up a terrific R-rated action film once a month. While there are some uneven qualities in the scripts, Swierczynski nonetheless brings some very good scenes and development with the titular character, bringing in some surprises and action along with the work of Kitson, Gaudiano and Reber. Read Full Review

Barry Kitson delivers a stellar set of pages again. The book looks great, especially those aforementioned chainsaw and machete scenes. Kitson inks some of his pages himself and others are inked by Stefano Gaudiano does the others, which is a slight problem because the styles are wildly different. Some pages are heavy on lines and shadows, others are smooth and lighter. It's not that one looks better than the other so much as they just look stylistically different. Read Full Review
