Throughout his whole life, Peter Stanchek has been confused by his strange powers and their effect on those closest to him. Now, having abandoned everything he knows, Peter has escaped to the confines of Toyo Harada’s Harbinger Foundation where his new training will temper his body, torture his mind and reawaken the horrors of his past. But is all of this truly giving Peter more control over his power? Or simply making him far more dangerous than he’s ever been before?
The art, the story, everything is working in perfect harmony with this series and frankly it will keep you on the edge of your seat when reading it. I couldn’t even throw out a guess as to where it’s going next because there are too many “X” factors still in play. I read the other Valiant titles because they’re great stories that entertain me; I read Harbinger because I have to. I have to know where the story is going and what’s going to happen to Peter and Harada or eventually I won’t sleep at night wondering. It makes me scared of how good this book really is. It's Dysart's skill as a writer accompanied by the expressive storytelling of the artists that no two characters read the same in this issue. It's amazing what one seemingly innocent line of dialogue here, or the focus of an eyeball there can do to move the story. It's great to watch unfold, and as a result, "Harbinger" is a book people need to know about. It's indie superheroes at its best, and fans of team books like "X-Men" or "Teen Titans" or indie works like "Invincible" or "Americas Got Powers" need to give "Harbinger" a read. Read Full Review
Prior to reading the first three issues of Harbinger to prep for this review I had not checked out the relaunched Valiant line of comics but if this is any indication of the quality of the line I will be catching up on the other series as well. Read Full Review
Im really enjoying this series, as I look forward to every new issue. Valiants summer keeps on getting hotter with every new comic, not even Marvels Avengers Vs X-Men can keep up with this kind of heat (even with the Phoenix Force). Read Full Review
