A fight is coming between Rose Red and Snow White, and everybody knows it except maybe Rose Red and Snow White. The only trouble is, theyve been pegged as highly magical creatures all of their lives, but the true measure of that magic is only now being revealed. When they do finally throw down with each other, will it be a personal duel, or all-out war involving thousands?

Major Spoilers - Matthew Peterson Aug 23, 2014

I'll tell you, that's not really much of a complaint, either. Fables #143 continues the slide towards the end, leaving me hoping that we might possibly get our central couple their happy ending after all, but not filling me with confidence in that fact, and making for an intriguing read all around. Despite a few worries and hiccups, "Fables" #143 is a solid read. It's what I've come to expect on a monthly basis from the book. I have some concerns about too much happening, but with two lead characters like Snow White and Rose Red in the middle of a deeply personal conflict I have faith that all will turn out well as we get closer to #150. The strong issue also includes the very last story of Babe the Miniature Blue Ox who reminds readers of previous adventures and then threatens them not to finish the issue thus allowing the series to continue. If only that was the case. Worth a look. Read Full Review

Comic Book Resources - Greg McElhatton Aug 21, 2014

"Fables" #143 has me genuinely worried, but not in the way that Willingham and Buckingham probably intended. I should be fretting about the fates of the beloved characters that I've been reading about since the very first issue was released. Instead, I'm worried that this final storyline is going to undo a lot of good will that the series has built up over the years. There's time for the book to pull out of the tailspin that it's in right now. But for the moment, the final memory of the title for those who stick around to the conclusion might be of a bad taste in one's mouth. That's no good. Read Full Review
