This issue marks the beginning of the new story "5 Brains, 5 Months," which will play out in "real time" over the course of the coming issues. In May, 2011, zombie girl Gwen and her friends solve a mystery just in time to keep an even more mysterious appointment with Amon, the sexy mummy, while the vampire girls add a new member to their number and the monster hunters prowl the streets. And in the first of a series of backup stories, we meet a group of government agents who will soon be making life very difficult for Gwen and company. But who are the Dead Presidents?

Michael Allred continues his phenomenal work on iZombie, after a brief break from issue #12. This time around, he gets to delve more heavily into some classic zombie horror action as we follow Horatio and Diogenes as they blast the holy hell out of some zombies. This issue in particular is interesting, as it's the most "mainstream" that this book has felt since it launched. Comics Bulletin - Matthew Z. Rios May 9, 2011

After a year into it, Im just not sure I know the overall point or goal of this book. More and more is added, but less and less of it is pushing the story onward and upward. Hopefully soon these creatures of the night wont be so scared of their own shadow and come out of the dark. Read Full Review
