Now that Denji has found the noble goal in life of "touching a boob," the rest is easy! He just needs to defeat a gigantic bat monster before he bleeds to death. Never underestimate a motivated Chainsaw Man! But will all his sacrifices actually be worth it...?
For older teen audiences.
While Chainsaw Man Volume 2hones on his dream, it also builds out the world's lore by explaining more of the damage done by devils and alluding to how they come to be. Additionally, we see more of Kun's backstory and get to understand this potential tsundere character's cold and callous personality. By adding scope to the world, Fujimoto makes Denji finally pursue a quest larger than what he can see and thus add depth to his character. And at the same time, this expansion of lore also allows for even more eventive and horror-inspired art that pushes body horror to the max. Read Full Review
Chainsaw Man Vol. 2 is a marked improvement over the first volume. While the sexual and crass side does not always blend with the serious and poignant moments, the writing is sharper than ever. The characterization and writing are excellent, while the art is even firing on all cylinders, delivering amazing action and engaging characters. If you were iffy on the first volume, you owe it to yourself to check out the second one. Read Full Review
