Vampires invade the Grimm Universe - and these ones don't sparkle. When Samira, the Queen of all Vampires, returns to Earth after over a century of banishment, she rallies her troops in a mission to kill every monster and High Born who won't bow before her. Can Helsing, daughter of the famed vampire hunter himself, send Samira back to the grave before the world is enslaved?

Overall this is a win for Zenescope. The story is ambitious as it takes place in both the 1500's and the present day, and juggles the main event series well but also has an identity of its own. Its tie-ins like this that prove a summer event can succeed for the reader and the publisher. Too often the tie in is an excuse to sell another book, but here it's obvious a good story is being told. Front Towards Gamer - PNeafsey Apr 24, 2013

Though some may feel it lacked the amount of action and excitement exhibited in the main title, Pat Shand and his team take their time to establish the characters in a way that is still engaging in this crossover. The setup is not wasted and hints at greater conflict, both external and internal, to follow. It's a good sign for the series that a character who might have been overshadowed in Unleashed can not only be given her own issue, but be made into someone that readers can become fully invested behind. Unleash The Fanboy - Harrison Rawdin Apr 23, 2013

Grimm Fairy Tales presents Vampires: The Eternal #1 is an engaging extension to what can be described as a riveting event. I know it's hard to believe but at this point it seems that what's been done so far has been beyond preconceived expectations. Recommended. Read Full Review

Comic Bastards - Dustin Cabeal Apr 24, 2013

I think this is a successful tie-in. Mostly because it didn't come across as a cheap tie-in and had a full and rich reading experience. The backup story on the other hand did feel forced, but it was more bonus than anything else. I'm still feeling out which tie-in series will be for me, but if there all as strong as this issue then it's probably a safe bet that I'll check them all out. If you picked up Unleashed then I would say there's no harm in grabbing this one either. Read Full Review
