The Fandom Post - Richard Gutierrez Apr 7, 2021

Man Goat & The Bunnyman is an odd narrative which attempts to create a relatable story between contrasting characters, but as the title grows in the complexity of balancing business with desired pleasure, it makes one wonder if these polarizing personalities will ever be able to settle things amicably. And yet with sharply humanizing illustrations and colors which ground the characters to people we might know, the series strikes a resounding chord of sympathy while becoming grating due to the constant clashing between the friends. But as the story pushes forward, the images become consistently darker in their overall attitude to project the underlying strain which these cryptids are exposed to on a daily basis, making the reader question if either will survive until the end. MAN GOAT & THE BUNNYMAN #1, available from Zenescope Entertainment on April 7th, 2021, is weird, funny, violent and thoroughly entertaining. If you like backwoods humor with bizarre characters, give this one a try. Read Full Review

Man Goat & The Bunny Man #1 is a great break away from the normal fare in comics. It is a unique concept and I look forward to seeing what the full story is that Joe Brusha is telling across these 3 issues. Read Full Review

I don't know what to really say about Man Goat and the Bunny Man #1. It is a strange horror/buddy-comedy that doesn't quite know what it wants to be and also has a little bit too much going on. Look, I was not expecting much, and it did exceed my expectations. The story is not terrible, and it got a few smiles out of me. The art is actually very well done comic-book art. But altogether, it is not something that is amazing, or that I will be telling everyone to pick up, either. More than likely if you are looking at this series then you know what you are in for. It has some interesting things happening and I do like the general concept; it just does not all come together quite as well as it should. Read Full Review

This is way better than what I expected!

I liked the characters, I like plots that involve cults and the artist does a decent job.

Art is good. Story is a bit of a mess. The reader is thrust into a world that has clearly been well thought-out, and exposition is thoughtfully delivered via inference, but the dialog is not natural. Sometimes the jokes work, other times they're cringe-y. Make no mistake, despite my criticism of the story, this is great writing as Zenescope comics go. It is unfortunate that the art and covers set a bar that the writing can't quite reach.
