Just when I thought issue #21 couldn't be topped, Hickman deals with the aftermath by having the "heroes" actually live with the consequences of their actions. In a medium where characters are treated as merchandise icons mostly that's something we don't see often. In fact, the scope of the Illuminati's actions is such that it should affect and change the characters far beyond the current arc and more
"OF ALL THAT WE ONCE WERE"
• We follow the members of the now-broken Illuminati through their last day on Earth.
"THIS IS THE VERY END..."
• The Illuminati shatters under an exploding planet.
Possibly one of the best comics I've read in a while. Hickman is on fire right now and in this issue he is blazing. For months now we see our heroes -all paragons of morality -struggling with hard decisions that will bring them over the edge. The final pages finally have them face those fears as they actually have to decide whether to cross the line or not. I was suspecting we would get a cop out more
• A world must die! But which New Avenger will find the strength to press the button? And what will come in the aftermath?
Who knew? I was sad to see Otto go...
Here's hoping all that's done with him the last months won't be forgotten so someone will bring back a generic Dr. Octopus down the line.
Also, it's clear Dan Slott loves Spider-man and his mythos.
Superior Spider-man has been Super Hero comics in its finest.
"Goblin Nation" - Part 4 of 5
• Since the start of DYING WISH, it has ALL been building to this.
• One of the most important moments of the ENTIRE Superior Spider-Man Saga!
• Once this happens, it CANNOT be undone!
• DO NOT MISS THIS ISSUE!
• Negotiating the fall of worlds.
• The Illuminati versus Thanos.
• Thor, God of War.
• The Avengers Universe.
• The Heroes of Earth rally to defeat Thanos.
• The war for Earth begins.
